Meet Your Instructor

Dr. Robert Chu, Ph.D., L.Ac., QME

Dr. Robert Chu is an internationally recognized expert in Master Tung’s Acupuncture, founder of the International Tung’s Acupuncture Research Association (ITARA), and author of numerous books and continuing education programs. He has lectured extensively throughout the United States and internationally and is known for translating traditional Tung principles into practical clinical applications.

Dr. Robert Chu, Ph.D., L.Ac., QME, is a licensed acupuncturist, herbalist, educator, author, and researcher specializing in Master Tung’s Acupuncture. He maintains a private practice in Los Angeles, California, and has spent decades studying, teaching, and preserving the clinical applications of the Tung family acupuncture system.

In 2005, Dr. Chu founded the International Tung’s Acupuncture Research Association (ITARA), an organization dedicated to advancing the study, preservation, and clinical application of Master Tung’s Acupuncture. Through ITARA, he has trained practitioners throughout the United States and internationally.

Dr. Chu serves on the faculty of Emperor’s College and has lectured extensively throughout North America, Europe, and Asia. His teaching emphasizes practical clinical application, diagnostic reasoning, and treatment strategies that practitioners can immediately integrate into patient care.

In addition to his work in acupuncture and Chinese medicine, Dr. Chu has studied and taught traditional martial arts and has been involved in a variety of educational and community service initiatives throughout his career.

Dr. Chu is the author and co-author of numerous books and educational resources focused on Master Tung’s Acupuncture and clinical Chinese medicine, including:
