Hoping that all of your holidays were filled with health, happiness and good memories. As the chapter closes on 2015, the Council and the Board have some exciting news for you.
First off, we wanted to let you know that all the details for the September 2016 Symposium are in place. The website will reflect the 2016 Symposium details as well as hotel booking information by the end of February. Don’t worry, we will remind you again about registration just in case you forget.
The symposium will be located in the Chicago area (Rosemont to be exact) September 24-25, 2016 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Chicago O’Hare Airport Hotel. What this means for all our out of town travelers is you can fly into O’Hare Airport and take the hotel’s free shuttle making travel more convenient for all of you.
Our speakers are pretty amazing as well. We have 2 speakers for each day and since the speakers asked for more time to talk (and it gives you a larger cushion for hours for renewal), we extended the hours on Saturday to be from 8am-4pm; Saturday will remain 8am-6pm.
Saturday we have renown author and teacher Ann Cecil-Sterman, LAc discussing the uses of the Sinew Channels and Tom Hurle, LAc will be not only lecturing but also instructing the uses /technique of Direct Moxibustion (starter direct moxa kits will be given to you- bring a lighter). Sunday Marc Gian LAc, LMT will be discussing the TCM Use of Essential Oils and Eric Baker, LAc, MSOM will be discussing the topic of knotty diseases.
Secondly, we are working on co-sponsorship for this event with the Illinois Association of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine. What this will give us is increased exposure to continue to provide you with high quality instructors but also to show that our organization has a full grasp of TCM in all of its branches.
Lastly, we are updating the website once again to ensure that it is not only more user friendly as well as capable of working better on mobile devices. Please watch for the changes, and let us know any feedback as well as if your information is not fully updated.
